About myself and my way

Who the person am I?

Hi, my name is Lili, and I am a junior data analyst.

With the passion for problem solving and statistics, I switched my focus to understanding users’ behavior. My background in online marketing and education in media research advertising has given me a deep insight into users’ behavior and a theoretical foundation for analyzing how people interact across various media platforms.

Here are my key skills:

  • Data cleaning and Exploratory data analysis
  • Data analysis in Python, SPSS, SQL, and Excel
  • Data visualization in Tableau
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics and Looker Studio
My journey to

Data analytics

Always move forward, even if it’s small steps, even if not always successfully, but always move towards your goal. Over time, reaching your goals will become a habit. (My motivation)

My path to becoming a data analyst didn’t start right after school, as it does for many. At that time, I made a choice in favor of theater, even though I loved mathematics. After enrolling in a theater school in my hometown of Tomsk, I quickly realized that it wasn’t my path.

The following year, I enrolled in Public Relations at Tomsk Polytechnical University. In 2007, I was fortunate enough to secure a job at an advertising agency affiliated with the largest media holding company in my town. Since then, I’ve been deeply interested in the fields of Advertising and Public Relations.

By 2008, I recognized that my hometown was too small to provide the opportunities for growth I desired. Consequently, I moved to Samara. There, I worked in an agency specializing in television advertising for some time and, after a year, decided to move forward.

Saint Petersburg opened up a world of opportunities for self-education and work. It was there that I learned about SEO and online marketing. In 2011, I was hired as an SEO Manager at a real estate rental company. Under the guidance of my mentor, I began studying the fundamentals of online marketing and applying this knowledge in practice. We worked on On-Page optimization, launched advertising campaigns on search engines and social networks, developed technical requirements for a new website, and oversaw its migration. Much of my work involved analyzing web data in Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica, which helped us make informed decisions about the success of our marketing efforts and determine the course of action for future campaigns. Collaborating closely with the sales department, we achieved significant results as a team. Subsequently, I continued to work in the advertising and online marketing field at other companies, but it was this job that continued to inspire me to this day.

After completing my university studies, I decided to refresh my knowledge of online marketing and web analytics. I started taking various online courses through Google Academy and also completed the “Foundation of Data Science and Machine Learning” course on Udemy. This course was so inspiring that I decided to pursue a full-fledged data analytics course through CareerFoundry. Starting in the spring, I completed it in September 2023. The analytics course included both theoretical learning and working on potential projects, meaning it wasn’t pure theory but involved studying real-life examples.

At present, I live in Dresden, a beautiful city in Germany. I continue to delve deeper into data analytics and discover more and more interesting concepts that I can study and apply in my work. Yes, my journey to my goal was long and winding, but I have no regrets and am grateful to everyone I encountered along the way who guided me to where I am today.
